CLIMB 5.13 is a periodized 14 Week Training Plan written specifically for the route climber who is climbing in the mid 5.12’s but hopes to break into the 5.13 grade, and has a specific season in which the climbing is the best. 5.12 climbers who are comfortable on lead, have a good understanding of on route recovery, and have no problems pushing themselves on a rope will benefit most from this plan.
CLIMB 5.13 consists of 3 phases to improve your strength, power, and power endurance, all while keeping your local endurance at a premium. As there is no local endurance phase in this plan, it's best to come into the training with a relatively high level of base fitness. Your download also includes log sheets to help you track your training.
You will need access to bouldering, a fingerboard, a campus board, and some sort of suspension trainer, such as a TRX or one of the many homemade variations that can be found on Youtube. You’ll also need kettlebells or dumbbells, or some form of weights.
